We were delighted to welcome the next round of PhD students funded by the NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre this month.
The 13 new recruits are talented researchers from a range of scientific backgrounds. They will be working a variety of projects designed to fulfill the mission of the NIHR Newcastle BRC: improving lives through research in ageing and long-term conditions. Supervised by clinical scientists from the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Newcastle University, across the new cohort, they will examine research challenges embedded in the NIHR Newcastle BRC research themes; dementia, liver disease, musculoskeletal disease, neuromuscular disease and skin and oral disease.
We will be working alongside all students across their PhD projects and look forward to updating their progress.
