This free event will include a performance by Streetwise Opera and a public lecture on health inequalities by Professor Sir Michael Marmot.

This evening event will follow on from the Five Giants Conference taking place at Newcastle University.

Professor Sir Michael Marmot

Sir Michael Marmot is Professor of Epidemiology at University College London, and Director of the UCL Institute of Health Equity. He is the author of The health gap: the challenge of an unequal world and Status syndrome: how your place on the social gradient directly affects your health.

Streetwise Opera

Streetwise Opera is an award-winning national charity that uses music to help people make positive changes in their lives. Working with people who have experienced homelessness, they run workshop programmes across England, stage critically-acclaimed operas and produce With One Voice, an international arts and homelessness movement.
