Gold standard in public engagement
Newcastle University has been awarded a Gold Engage Watermark in recognition of outstanding commitment to public engagement.
Newcastle University, the academic host for the NIHR Newcastle BRC, has been recognised with the highest award possible, for their contribution to public engagement.
The Gold Engage Watermark comes from the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement. This is a huge achievement that recognises the commitment of colleagues from across the University, the student body and the wide ranging partners and publics. The award is the result of a rigorous assessment process whereby Newcastle University’s Engagement team were able to demonstrate a high level of institutional commitment and a robust plan for further improvements.
Martin Dixon, Chief Operating Office for the Newcastle BRC commented:
We are very pleased for our Newcastle University Engagement colleagues, as well as feeling very proud to be linked to their outstanding work. Our public and patient engagement and our work to benefit local communities are key areas for us at Newcastle BRC, we feel very positive that we are part of an institution that has this culture embedded in everything they do.
