Researchers from Newcastle University will present the latest research in dementia, along with Arthritis Research UK as part of a Public Event.
Arthritis Research UK regularly host public events to give information about dementia, including current research and latest treatments.
The next event will take place on 13th June at Newcastle University. Researchers and clinicians who are key within the NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre partnership will speak on the day.
Professor Johannes Attems, Professor of Neuropathology and Honorary Consultant Pathologist will welcome guests.
Dr Katy Stubbs from Alzheimer’s Research UK will then provide information on the charity and their role in funding world-class research.
Professor Ian McKeith, Professor of Old Age Psychiatry will give an update on the latest research around the dementias.
After the break, Dr Kirsty McAleese, Research Associate at Newcastle University will deliver her presentation entitled, ‘The white matter in Alzheimer’s research’.
To conclude, Professor Lynn Rochester, Professor of Human Movement Science will discuss the links between gait and dementia diagnosis in her presentation, ‘Walking – what can it tell us about dementia?’
The discussion will take place from 2 – 4.30pm on 13th June 2017.
