Read about our recent training activity and all upcoming training events.
NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Training has had many highlights over the past few months, some of which can be seen below;
- We funded five Clinical PhD Fellows to undertake a 3 year PhD in translational research in line with our themes in ageing and long term conditions.
- We supported four NMAHPs to undertake a Newcastle University e-learning Masters level module in Clinical Research with Older People.
- We held our first NERO (North-East Research Opportunities) for Geriatricians, which was a great opportunity for Geriatricians in the region to network: both those currently active in research and those who were interested in research.
- We held a networking event where Allied Health Professionals could learn about getting involved in research opportunities. NMHAPs who had engaged in research activity, and were all at different stages of their career and from different disciplines, shared their stories and were able to offer practical tips for those interested in research.
The NIHR Newcastle BRC Training will continue to develop its training programme in 2019 and some of the upcoming events can be seen below.
