The NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre will host a training session that gives attendees a unique opportunity to get advice first hand from members of the NIHR Doctoral Fellowship Panel. Join us for this valuable event.
The session will take place on Wednesday 20th September, 12.00 – 14.00 in Great Gable Conference Room, Level 1, CARU, Campus for Ageing and Vitality.
It is aimed at individuals who are interested in doctoral, postdoctoral/intermediate fellowships with the NIHR.
The session, entitled: Advice from the NIHR Training Panel: Talking Heads, will include a welcome address and overview from lead for the NIHR Newcastle BRC’s Liver Disease Research Theme and NIHR Dean for Faculty Trainees, Professor David Jones, as well as NIHR Doctoral Fellowships Panel chair, Professor Judith Rankin.
The session will then continue with a mock panel, featuring Dr James Frith, former NIHR Newcastle BRC PHD student, and current NIHR Clinician Scientist.
This is a rare opportunity to get two perspectives from leaders in their research and is relevant to clinical and non-clinical individuals applying for NIHR Fellowships. The session will end with a clinic where you will be given the opportunity to ask specific questions and get advice from experts in your field.
Lunch will be provided.
Please book your place now, as spaces will be limited.
This event is co-sponsored by: NIHR Newcastle BRC and ExCitE (EXternal Clinical FellowshIps SupporT programmE)
