Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement is the driving force for NIHR Newcastle BRC’s research
The NIHR Newcastle BRC Public Partnership Advisory Group (PPAG) is a key part of our Governance, bringing the patient, carer and public perspective to the BRC’s research and provides support for researchers to actively involve public involvement and engagement in their research.
The NIHR Newcastle PPAG brings together expertise, insight and experience in research, and public involvement in research from across the BRC research themes and local community organisations.
The PPAG’s role in developing and co-producing our research is central to our BRC governance and its powerful voice challenges us ensure our research follows patient need and reflects the diversity of populations we serve.
Key to doing this well are our relationships with local communities. These partnerships widen the public and patient perspectives that shape our research and allow the lived experience of patients and carers to inform our research at every stage.
