PPIE Planner Tool Launches
The PPIE (Patient & Public Involvement and Engagement) Planner is a tool developed by the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Newcastle University, and the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC)
The planner is a brand-new digital tool designed to help researchers, at any stage of their research, develop plans for patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE).
The tool enables researchers to plan and consider their PPIE activities by answering questions based on different stages of the research cycle, diversity and inclusion, and measuring impact. The tool produces a plan that can then support project development, grant applications and act as a guide for researchers.
The COVID-19 pandemic helped us identify a need to better support our researchers to plan their PPIE activities in a more digitalised way. This digital tool enables researchers to document their plans and ideas for PPIE before seeking advice and support from PPIE expert colleagues.
The PPIE Planner is open and available to anyone who might find it useful. Access the planning tool on VOICE Global here: http://planner.voice-global.org/
