‘Research is everybody’s business: academic opportunities for clinical trainees’ is an event aimed at medical, surgical and dental trainees in the Health Education England North East (HEENE) region.
It will showcase the wide range of opportunities available for trainees to get involved in research, with an emphasis on non-traditional routes into clinical academic careers and supporting clinical trainees to become research active in their NHS roles.
This event will be hosted by the NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre and will include a series of lightning talks and panel discussions with clinical trainees who became researchers.
We are delighted to welcome contributions from Dr Richard Bellamy, Director of Speciality Training, North East and Cumbria and Professor David Jones OBE, Director of NHIP Academy who will share their insights into academic medical careers and building research activity into medical training.
This is a hybrid event (hosted online via Teams) at the CRB Lecture Theatre, CRB Education Centre, RVI Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne from 13:30 – 16:30. There will be an in-person networking lunch from 12:30 – 13:30.
Attendance is free but registration is essential.
