We recognise the benefits of working with industry and the successful contribution these partnerships make for health research, development and innovation.
We have a strong focus on supporting activity that will foster relationships with industry in order to develop interventions for the prevention, diagnosis and treatments of long-term conditions across our research themes.
We capitalise on the resources of Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Newcastle University through the work of experienced clinicians and scientists who offer access to well-characterised patient cohorts and support high quality programmes of work in translational research.
We have a well established clinical service through our CRESTA clinical facility, Clinical Ageing Research Unit and Clinical Research Facility, with highly-trained staff capable of setting up, negotiating and delivering all phases of clinical trials in accordance with Good Clinical Practice Standards.
We also work closely with the Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit (CTU). Based with Newcastle University’s Faculty of Medical Sciences, the Newcastle CTU works in partnership with investigators across all disease types, phases of research and methodologies in order to deliver high quality research.
We work closely with the NIHR and other partner organisations to ensure our research is translated into patient benefit:
