Our Governance

  1. About
  2. Our Governance

The NIHR Newcastle BRC sits at the heart of a world-class research environment across the Newcastle Hospitals, Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust and Newcastle University Partnership. This excellence was recognised by the partnership being awarded Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) status in 2020, one of only eight centres to gain this recognition in the UK. The inclusion of CNTW in our BRC since 2022 has served to further strengthen our Partnership and build regional reach; CNTW is highly research active and hosts the NIHR ARC North East North Cumbria (NENC).
