Industry & Partners

We work with a wide range of partners and organisations, locally, nationally and internationally to maximise the impact of our research.

Our networks span the NHS, Universities, NIHR, other funders, industry and beyond. We build sustainable collaborations that enable the translation of discoveries into patient benefit and economic growth. We provide access to experienced clinicians and scientists, well-characterised patient cohorts and robust delivery infrastructure including experimental medicine facilities, technology platforms and core supporting services. We have an outstanding track record of delivering in partnership with industry and collaborating with charities.

NIHR's Offer to Industry

NIHR’s mission is to improve the health and wealth of the nation through research. As part of NIHR we form part of a unique world class research infrastructure of world leading experts across the whole innovation pathway.

Working with Industry

We offer a patient centred, pro-innovation, digitally enabled clinical research environment and we leverage existing relationships and expertise to develop a comprehensive package of support partners. We also have a strong focus on helping BRC investigators at all levels to develop confidence and skills to engage with industry.

Working with Charities and Research Funders

As well as our core work with the NIHR, we work with charities and other public funders to support high quality research. We jointly-fund research and training programmes and work together to share expertise and develop best practice. This enhances our expertise and secures additional funding across all our research themes.

Get in Touch

Professor David Jones and Professor Chris Lamb lead this area together with Martin Dixon, Chief Operating Officer of the NIHR Newcastle BRC and support investigators to work with industry partners. Their extensive experience help our team to develop collaborations to stimulate growth in the regional health/life sciences sector. To discuss working with us please contact:
