Chris Plummer is the BRC Informatics Lead, a key member of the BRC Strategic Leadership team, with a focus on how the BRC can best use digital technologies to support the delivery of patient benefits.
Dr Plummer is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as well as their Chief Clinical Informatics Officer (CCIO) for Health Informatics.
Dr Plummer works as a consultant cardiologist in the Freeman Hospital where he is clinical lead for implantable cardiac rhythm devices. His other medical and research interests include the cardiovascular effects of cancer treatments including the early detection of toxicity with biomarkers and protective strategies for adults and children. He is also heavily involved in all aspects of medical education from medical student interviews and exam setting to working as training programme director for cardiology.
