Dr Neil Rajan is the emerging leader for the Skin Disease, Oral Disease and Immunogenomics theme, working on a project entitled ‘Scratching the surface: Gene signatures in pigmented skin lesions’.
He is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Newcastle University and an Honorary Consultant Dermatologist with the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He started his own lab group with funding from the Wellcome Trust and is passionate about translational research in rare genetic skin disease. He has personally secured more than £1.6M for rare genetic skin disease research and has received six national awards for his work.
