Our people

We bring together investigators across different career stages; from those with significant and world-leading experimental medicine expertise in our theme areas, to early-career academics and clinicians, as well as students and first-time researchers keen to work in the field of ageing and long-term conditions.

They are supported by a team of specialist professional services staff who look after core functions, including performance and reporting, training provision, public and patient involvement and engagement, finance and governance, and communications.

Constructive advice and guidance is provided by our key strategic partners in the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust and Newcastle University, as well as an External Advisory Group, which has  reviews the NIHR Newcastle BRC’s performance, including research, training and PPIE.
